ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Alesia Chaika is an artist, luxury fashion designer at fashion house of Alesia Chaika and founder of Art & Style Academy private classes and programs for children and adults. She specializes in Wearable Art, couture bridal and evening wear, luxury outerwear, Wearable Art resort wear, 100% silk sleep wear, formal wear, high-end fashion accessories, corporate apparel, business suiting, souvenirs and novelty keepsakes.
Alesia comes from a lineage of fine tailors, artists, and creative masters spanning 4 generations. Her passion for visual art, painting, drawing, pattern-making, sewing, and graphic design was nurtured at an early age. Alesia would observe her feather and mother, the talented artists and interior designers, creating oil painting on canvas, still life drawings, sculpting, ceramics, applied art, mosaics, designing a custom carved solid wood furniture and frames, building custom outdoor advertising billboards and signs, creating logos and developing brands for different organizations, colleges and projects.
In addition, Alesia was observing her grandmother, a seamstress, meticulously and lovingly create custom dresses for each of her 5 daughters for holidays and special occasions. Alesia’s mother, continued the tradition for her own children, and Alesia fell in love with textile and fabrics, often using remaining fabric to create stylish outfits for her dolls. With each embellishment - lace, crystals, freshwater pearls - that adorned her pieces, she developed an appreciation for accentuating individuality with style. Alesia have designed her very first couture wedding gown in 1992 celebrating 30 years of couture art in 2022.
In 2012, Alesia bridged her 25+ years of professional experience in branding, marketing, retail and couture fashion industry to launch her own namesake fashion house and expand her craft. Here she hand-selects fabrics from around the globe to ensure highest quality, directly oversees custom designed couture wedding and evening gowns, custom theater costumes, men's formal wear, outerwear, luxury resort and fine silk sleepwear, fine tailoring and alterations, fittings, spearheads style consultations and creative design project customization.
Drawing inspiration from gorgeous city of Chicago, Alesia created a collection, inspired by original pencil illustration of Chicago skyline, custom Wearable-Art dresses, high-end fashion accessories and a luxury gifting line, jewelry of novelty keepsakes.
In 2013 Alesia created her first collection of Wearable Art scarves and resort wear, inspired by her original artworks and crafted of pure mulberry silk, defining classic feminine style with timeless quality.
Her recent portfolio includes partnerships with: NHL and Fortune 500 companies.
Alesia teach the Art-A-Porte Wearable Art classes, drawing fundamentals, painting, still life, mandala dot art, applied art and crafts, mosaics, couture embroidery, individual style, fashion, personal branding, brand design and philosophy, marketing classes and offers branding, marketing and product development consulting.
Alesia holds masters degree in Speech Pathology from Pedagogical College and 9 years Diploma of the School of Art and Music, playing and teaching piano and eastern European belarussian folk instrument cimbalom.
